Poetry

Women’s Liberation
by Earl Bergland, 1972

Puzzled, she nodded, possibly yes
Then studiously, maybe it’s best no.

Leaves in sparse clusters chatted.
In the shade of bare branches
Shadows of recent snow.

Thoughts and eyes seek tomorrow
For she felt imprisoned here.
What could she find, borrow
To allow her more near?

The eagle defiantly screamed
Hunting the wintry air,
Sailing the wind,
Not knowing the care.

notes:
Note: The ninth line relates to goals.
Yeah, so how would you have written it?
