Poetry

J.C. Walker
by Earl Bergland, May 14th, 2001

Aristotle, “Woman is weak of will.”
Madams Curie, Stanton, Walker please stand.
Plato, “Women and men’s rights are equal.”
Madame Curie twice toast Nobel in hand.

Stanton ranted vote at preachers' backs plenty.
Create an ocean wave ‘gainst the bleak shore.
Smirking stonewall bankers not a penny!
What, have distressed hanky signals no more?

Walker’s chic chorus line danced fine success.
It grandly styled women's heady image.
Perky foliaged business vines shared harvest.
Fluffing of spirits Walker did manage.

Cheers! Curie, Stanton, Walker righted Plato.
Nineteen twenty women won aye and no.
