It’s About Me
by Earl Bergland, 2012

I/we, ____________________________________________________, being of sound mind(s) and free will(s) hereby appoint_______________________________________ as my /our Special Agent for the sole opportunity of giving funds or goods (not made in China) in the amount of $100 to some needy person(s) on or before December 25, 2009.

The Purpose:

  1. To learn about oneself (determination/creativity),
  2. To motivate others (leadership/communication skills),
  3. To learn about one’s community (research),
  4. To write an account of the experience (school project).

The Rules:

  1. Special Agent must have written approval of parent(s) or promptly return funds.
  2. The funds or goods can’t be given to an organization (Elks Lodge/IBM/church) or to friends or to relatives.
  3. Special Agent must “attempt” to match funds (“I have a person who will donate a $100 for the needy if I can find people who will help me to match the $100. A dollar donation is fine.”).

The best sales procedure would be to explain to prospective donator the plan to raise matching funds and who will get the funds or goods.

Of course, the hope is that other people will accept the concept and appoint their Special Agent to create a tsunami of funds of such magnitude that it would wash away the national debt.

Enclosed is a $100 in certified funds payable to Special Agent and/or Donator (If funds are returned to Donator, then check is easily cashed.).

I/we,____________________________________________________________, give consent for my/our child to participate in the above project and agree to the above rules.

Date_____________

Tis sharing time of year
Sharing our thought how queer
Those prancing reindeer feet
Should bring our minds to meet

Thoughts go slumbering by
Drifting as clouds a rye
