Devil’s Blues
by Earl Bergland, 1970

Wanta sing blues, wanta sing'em bad
Cauz blues are all I've eva had.
Why'm I hopin, keep a dreamin so
When the Devil's Blues won't let go.
One step head, then one step back,
Walkin, walkin in the old same track.

Devil's Blues they blee a man slow;
Ha longta fight'em I'll neva know.
Why'm I tryin, tryin to 'gain forgit
All the times I neva ma it?

Devil's Blues are deep and mean
Tear a man part at the seam.
What's that I hear in the wind?
Is it hope temptin me gain?
These blues won't led me, neva will.
I'm below bottem of the hill.

Devil's Blues they blee a man slow;
Ha longta fight'em I'll neva know.
Why'm I tryin, tryin to 'gain forgit
All the times I neva ma it?
